Versions
Save a strategy as a new version, read the results of each version, and use an earlier one again.
Each time you save a strategy, it becomes a new version. The newest version is the one the bot runs. Earlier versions stay, with their results.
Save as new version
Select Save as new version under the editor. The button is off while the strategy has problems, or while it needs a higher tier than the Spinner has.
When you save, Spin's servers check the strategy again:
- The engine's checks, the same as in the editor.
- The tier the strategy needs, against the tier the Spinner has now.
- The strategy's name and its exit names. Other holders can see these words later, so a word that is flagged is refused, with what to change.
Then you see "Saved as version N. The bot uses it within seconds." The card's title shows the strategy's name and its version, for example "Launch momentum (version 3)".
A strategy runs only while the Spinner has the tools it needs. Read rarity and tiers.
What open positions keep
Open positions keep the rules they were opened with. A position sells by the exits and the exit slippage of the version that opened it, even after you save a new version. Only new entries use the new version.
Version history
The Versions card on the Strategy tab lists every version that the Spinner has run, newest first. More versions load as you scroll. Each version shows:
- Its number and name. The version the bot runs now has the Active label.
- When it ran: "Since" a date for the active version, or the dates from and to for an earlier one.
- Who saved it: "you", or "an earlier holder". The history stays with the Spinner after a sale.
- Its results, live and paper apart: the trades it closed, the average return a trade, the share it won, and the result in ETH. It also shows how many of its positions are still open. A version with no trades shows "No trades."
These results are a record of the past. They do not say how a version will do next.
Use a version again
View its rules
In the Versions card, select View rules on the version. Its rules show as JSON. You cannot change them here.
Choose to use it
Select Use this version again. This button is not there for the active version.
Confirm
Read the note: "This saves version N's rules as a new version, and the Spinner trades on them at once. Open positions keep the rules they were opened with." Select Use them now, or Cancel.
The rules then become a new version, for example "Version 2's rules are now version 5." The tier check still applies.
