$SPIN

Fees and burns

Every fee Spin charges, how much it is, and where each part goes.

Spin has no subscription. You pay to mint and activate a Spinner, and the bot pays a fee on the trades it makes. A bot that does not trade pays no trading fee.

Every fee

$SPIN's own creator fees are split too: 70% goes to Spinner wallets each week, and 30% goes to the protocol. See the weekly airdrop.

Mint

A Spinner costs 10,000 $SPIN. The payment goes to the protocol. See minting.

Activation

A new Spinner starts inactive. Activation costs 5,000 $SPIN:

  • 3,500 $SPIN (70%) is burned.
  • 1,500 $SPIN (30%) goes to the protocol.

Each sale or transfer makes the Spinner inactive again. The new holder pays the activation fee again. The Spinner's wallet, strategy and record stay with it. AI keys and MCP servers stay with the earlier holder, so the new holder adds their own. See transfers.

Trading fee

The guard takes 0.5% of each trade that a live bot makes:

  • On a buy: 0.5% of the ETH that the bot spends.
  • On a sell: 0.5% of the ETH that the bot gets.

The guard sends the fee in ETH from the Spinner's wallet to the protocol. 70% of it is used to buy $SPIN on the market and burn it. 30% goes to the protocol.

Coming soon

A buyback contract that buys and burns $SPIN with the 70% share. The 70/30 split applies from the first trade. Until the contract is live, the protocol keeps the 70% share apart. When the contract goes live, the whole saved balance goes into it to buy and burn $SPIN.

The guard contract cannot charge more than 1% on a trade.

Paper trades move no money, so nothing is paid. But paper results and backtests include the fee, so you can see its effect.

Other costs

These costs are not Spin's fees, but your bot pays them:

  • Gas. The Spinner's wallet pays the gas for each of its trades. The guard contract caps the gas price and the amount for each trade.
  • Venue fees and taxes. Pools, launchpads and tokens take their own fees and taxes. See venues.
  • AI calls. AI steps run on your own API key, so your provider bills you. See AI keys.

On buys, the trading fee and the gas count against your per-trade and per-day limits.

Burns

$SPIN is burned in two ways:

  1. 70% of each activation fee, when the Spinner is activated.
  2. The $SPIN that 70% of the trading fees buy back.

A burn destroys the tokens, so the supply of $SPIN gets smaller.
