Wallet and network
Robinhood Chain, how you sign in with a wallet, ETH for gas, and why the wallet that holds the Spinner matters.
Robinhood Chain
Spinners live on Robinhood Chain, an Ethereum layer-2 network. All amounts in the app, trade sizes and gas are in ETH.
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Network name | Robinhood Chain |
| Chain ID | 4663 |
| Currency | ETH |
| RPC address | https://rpc.mainnet.chain.robinhood.com |
| Block explorer | robinhoodchain.blockscout.com |
You do not have to add the network by hand. When you send a transaction from the app, the app asks your wallet to switch to Robinhood Chain.
Sign in with a wallet
Spin has no passwords. You sign in with an Ethereum wallet.
- Click Connect wallet in the top corner of the app.
- Choose your wallet.
- Sign the message that the wallet shows. A signature costs no gas.
After you sign in, My Spinners shows every Spinner that your connected wallets hold. To sign out, click the button next to your address.
Your wallet signs only when you change a bot's settings or move funds: a mint, an activation, a deposit or withdrawal, or live trading limits. The bot itself never uses your wallet. It trades from the Spinner's own wallet. Read The Spinner's wallet.
ETH for gas
Two different wallets pay gas:
| Wallet | Pays gas for |
|---|---|
| Your wallet (the one that holds the Spinner) | Mints, activations, deposits, withdrawals, live trading limits, and other settings that you sign |
| The Spinner's wallet | The bot's live trades |
Keep some ETH in both. If the Spinner's wallet cannot pay for a trade and its gas, the trade does not go through, and the bot page tells you to add ETH.
The wallet that holds the Spinner matters
Many things depend on which wallet holds the Spinner:
- Only that wallet can act. Only the wallet that holds a Spinner can activate it, deposit into its wallet from the app, withdraw from its wallet, and set its live trading limits. If you connect a different wallet, the app shows which wallet holds the Spinner.
- Tiers count the $SPIN in that wallet. Hold-to-unlock counts the $SPIN in the same wallet that holds the Spinner. $SPIN in another wallet, or in the Spinner's own wallet, does not count. Read Rarity and tiers.
- Live trading limits belong to that wallet. If the Spinner moves to a different wallet, the earlier limits stop. Read Transfers.
Keep the Spinner and the $SPIN together
If you use more than one wallet, keep each Spinner in the wallet that also holds your $SPIN. Then the bot gets the tools that your $SPIN unlocks.
