Getting started

Quickstart

Sign in, mint and activate a Spinner, give it a strategy, test it on paper, then go live.

This page takes you from no Spinner to a bot that trades. Each step links to a page with more detail.

  1. Open the Spin app.
  2. Click Connect wallet.
  3. Choose your wallet and sign the message.

Use the wallet that will hold your Spinners. If your wallet is on a different network, the app asks it to switch to Robinhood Chain when you send a transaction. Read Wallet and network.

Get $SPIN and ETH

You need $SPIN in the wallet that you signed in with:

For$SPIN
One mint10,000
One activation5,000
One Spinner, minted and activated15,000

You also need some ETH on Robinhood Chain for gas. If your wallet has too little $SPIN, the mint page and the activation card tell you how much more you need. When the app has a place to buy $SPIN, they also show a Buy $SPIN button. Read $SPIN.

Mint a Spinner

  1. Open Mint.
  2. Choose how many Spinners to mint with the + and - buttons.
  3. Click Pay ... $SPIN. The button shows the total cost.
  4. Approve the transactions in your wallet.

The page shows each new Spinner and its rarity. Read Minting.

Activate it

A new Spinner is inactive. Its bot cannot trade, on paper or live, until you activate it.

  1. After the mint, click Activate Spinner #.... You can also open the Spinner from My Spinners.
  2. On the Activation card, click Activate for 5,000 SPIN.
  3. Approve the transactions in your wallet.

Read Activation.

Pick a preset or write a strategy

  1. On the Spinner's page, open the Strategy tab.
  2. In Start from a preset, choose a preset. Or build your own rules in the Workflow tab.
  3. Change what the preset asks for, for example the token to buy or the wallets to copy.
  4. Click Save as new version.

The editor tells you which tier of tools the strategy needs, and which tier your Spinner has. A preset is a starting point, not a promise of results. Before you save, you can run a backtest on past market data. Read Presets, Rarity and tiers and Backtests.

Paper trade

An active Spinner with a saved strategy trades on paper. Paper trades use no money, but they pay the same 0.5% fee in their results as live trades.

  1. Make sure that the Bot switch says Running.
  2. Make sure that the Money control says Paper.
  3. Watch the Performance and Activity tabs.

If the bot has a problem that you can fix, a Needs your attention card shows it. Let the strategy run on paper long enough for you to trust its results.

Fund the Spinner's wallet

  1. Open the Wallet tab.
  2. In Deposit, type an amount of ETH.
  3. Click Deposit and approve the transaction.

The ETH goes to the Spinner's own wallet. The bot trades from this wallet and pays the gas of its trades from it. Read The Spinner's wallet.

Go live

  1. On the Wallet tab, find the Live trading card. You can also click Set up live trading at the top of the page.
  2. Type your limits in Most per trade, Most per day and For (days).
  3. Click Allow live trading and approve the transactions.
  4. When all four steps on the card have a check mark, turn the switch from Paper to Live.

The bot now trades with real ETH from the Spinner's wallet, within your limits. To stop new trades, turn the Bot switch to Paused. Read Live trading.

Only use what you can afford to lose

Live trading uses real money. A strategy that did well on paper or in a backtest can lose money live. Read Risks.
